CALVARY CHAPEL MERIDIAN

Paul is Brave (Toddlers/PreK)

This week in Calvary Kids, we watch as Paul continues on his missionary journey and is heading back to Jerusalem. On his way, he meets a man named Agabus who told Paul that if he goes to Jerusalem then he’ll be arrested and go to prison, or maybe worse.

Read Acts 21-22

Even though Paul was told to not go to Jerusalem, he was brave and went anyways! Paul was very courageous and  knew that God would be with him and help him. When he
got to Jerusalem, the believers were happy to see him but others started to make up lies about Paul to the point where he got arrested. This was the very thing that Agabus told him would happen!

Paul then had an opportunity to speak to the group that was trying to get him in trouble. He started to share the story of how Jesus saved him. (This is called a testimony). Yet as Paul was sharing his story, the people didn’t like what they were hearing and the guards had to pull Paul out of there because the people were getting so mad.

Still, Paul was very brave and courageous and it says in chapter 21:13 that Paul would
have done anything for Jesus. We want to be brave for Jesus too, and we can be brave in different ways. Sometimes we can be brave just by praying in front of people, but no matter what we have to do, God will always be with us and we can always ask for the gift of faith to believe and trust a little more in Him.

Memory Verse:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and
do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9

Discussion Questions:
1. Who did God heal through Paul?

2. Where did the Holy Spirit want Paul to go?

3. Who can be our guide if we allow Him to be?

4. How can we encourage others?

5. What does brave mean?
