CROSS TRAINING

Equipping the saints for the work of ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ.

-Ephesians 4:12

MISSION

To train Christ-like servant leaders through personal discipleship, study, and practical experience.

Our mission comes from Ephesians 4:12, “equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”.

CROSS TRAINING PURPOSE

Jesus said to go into all the world and make disciples, by “teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20). We believe that our mission is to equip the saints to be the future leaders of the church through systematic Bible teaching and practical training. These courses are designed to help fulfill that purpose.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?

101 Leadership Training – This course is open to men and women who desire to grow in the Lord, especially those who desire to be in a leadership role in our church or elsewhere. The goal of the curriculum is to train you to be a servant leader. We encourage all those currently serving in

ministry to attend as well.

201 Pastoral Training – The advanced course is designed for men who desire to answer the call to pastoral ministry, whether locally or as a potential church planter elsewhere. The 101 leadership course is a prerequisite to the 201 course. Wives of the married men are encouraged to attend with them also.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Both the 101 and 201 level courses run for nine months from September 2017 through May 2018, and are modeled after our House2House small groups, in that classes will meet in homes in the fall (September through November), and spring (March through May), with a winter “break”. Homework and serving opportunities will be assigned during December through February. Each course ends with a mission trip (101 to CC Baker City Oregon, and 201 to CC Medicine Hat Canada). Those who complete the course(s) will graduate in front of our church in June 2018.

Each student will be required to:

  • Attend one class session per week that takes  place either on Tuesday evening (101) or Thursday evening (201)
  • Read approximately one assigned book per month
  • Read through the entire Bible during the courses
  • Meet with a mentor monthly
  • Complete weekly assignments based on the information taught
  • Serve approximately one hour per week
