Joshua's Battle - Exodus Series (PreK/Toddler)

Today in Calvary Kids, we learned that God fights for us when we pray, friends help us when we're tired, and we can always pray to God for help.

Read Exodus 17:8-16

The Bible tells us the mean Amalekites wanted to fight Israel. Moses said to Joshua, "You go fight! I will pray to God!" (Exodus 17:8-9) Mean people wanted to hurt God's people! But Moses knew what to do - PRAY! Moses went up on a hill to pray to God. He had God's special stick with him; the same stick that parted the Red Sea! When something scary happens, like you fall down or someone is mean, you can pray! God listens when you pray!

Moses' arms got tired. His friends Aaron and Hur held up his hands! (Exodus 17:12) Moses got so tired! His arms hurt from holding them up! So his friends came and helped him! Aaron held one arm and Hur held the other arm! They helped Moses keep praying! Our friends can help us when we need it. When you're tired or sad, your friends can help you! God gives us good friends!

The Bible tells us that Israel won the battle! God fought for them! Moses built an altar and said, "God is our banner! He goes with us!" (Exodus 17:13-15) Israel won because God fought for them! Moses was so happy! He built an altar to say "Thank You, God!" Moses said, "God is our banner! God goes with us everywhere!"

God is always with us! God is SO strong! God is always with you! When you go to school, God is there. When you play, God is there. When you sleep, God is there! God never leaves you!
