CALVARY CHAPEL MERIDIAN

Passover and the Exodus - Exodus Series (Toddler/PreK)

This week in Calvary Kids, we learned that God had a special plan to save His people, the lamb's blood on the door kept the families safe, and Jesus is our Lamb who saves us.

Read: Exodus 12:1-42

God talked to Moses and said, 'Every family needs a lamb! Every family got a lamb and this lamb lived with the family. The lamb was special and it had to be perfect - no spots and no boo-boos. This lamb was pointing to Jesus! Jesus is called the Lamb of God!

God told the families to do something very important that would keep them safe. They put the lamb's blood on their door! This would protect them from the 10th and last plague. This one would be the worst and most sad. It would force Pharaoh to see that God is stronger. The blood went on top of the door and on the sides too. It was made into the shape of a cross just like how the cross is what Jesus died on for us.

That night, something sad happened in Egypt. The last plague would come to Egypt and would be the worst one but if the people followed God's words, they would be safe! The Bible tells us: "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." Death came to Egypt that night. All the firstborn people and animals would die. But if a house had blood on the door, that family was SAFE! The blood kept them safe and the angel of the Lord passed over all the houses that had this on them.

After that night, Pharaoh said YES to them leaving the land! He said, 'Go! Leave Egypt!" God's people packed their bags and they put on their shoes.  They walked out of Egypt and were FREE! God saved them! The lamb's blood saved God's people and Jesus is OUR Lamb! The Bible tells us: "Behold! The Lamb of God!" Jesus is called the Lamb of God and he truly does save us! Jesus loves us SO much that He died for us on the cross and came back to life!
