The Son of David, The Root of Jesse - The Life of David Series
Today in Calvary Kids, we remembered all of the David stories we have gone over the last thirteen weeks and see how God was with David the entire time and that Jesus is the very best!
Read Matthew 22:41-45; 2 Samuel 7:12-16; Revelation 5:5; Luke 1:32-33
Remember? David was the littlest brother. He was so small! But God chose him to be special. Jesus loves little ones too! Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me!” That means Jesus loves YOU! Remember the BIG, SCARY giant? David was brave and he threw a stone at Goliath and won the battle. Jesus is even braver! Jesus isn’t scared of anything. Jesus keeps us safe from scary things! David knew this when he trusted the Lord to help him fight the huge giant!
David played music to help the king feel better. He was a good helper. Jesus is the BEST helper! Jesus helps us every day. When we’re sad, Jesus makes us happy!
David had a best friend named Jonathan. They loved each other so much. Jesus is our very best friend! He never leaves us. Jesus loves us SO much! (Stretch arms wide.)
Sometimes David had to hide, but God kept him safe. We don’t need caves because Jesus keeps us safe everywhere! At home, at church, at the store-Jesus is always with us!
David was kind even to mean people. Jesus is the kindest! Jesus loves everybody, and He loves you, He loves me, He loves everyone!
David wore a crown and became king! But Jesus is the King of EVERYTHING! David was king of one place, but Jesus is King everywhere!
David was so happy about the ark that he danced and danced! We can dance for Jesus too! He makes us so happy!
When David did wrong things, he said sorry and God forgave him. When we do bad things, we can say, “Sorry, Jesus.” And Jesus says, “I love you, and I forgive you!”
David got things ready for God’s house. Jesus is even better and He lives in our hearts! That’s better than any house!
David was good… But Jesus is the BEST! David loved God… But Jesus is God’s Son who loves us perfectly!
Remember: David was God’s friend, but Jesus makes us God’s children. Everything good about David shows us that Jesus is even better. And the best part? Jesus loves you more than anyone ever could!
