God's Power and Plan is Unstoppable (Toddler/PreK)

Today in Calvary Kids, we are in our last chapter of Acts! We started this book many months ago and we have seen so many cool things happen! In the book of Acts, we saw the gift of the Holy Spirit, the start of the church, and an introduction to Paul. Paul has been the main character of this book and was a real person who did real things for God.

Today we get to see what happens to Paul after the shipwreck. We will also see Paul finally make it to Rome to meet with Caesar. Paul has been through a lot, but God had a plan every single step of the way. He made sure His plan happened and Paul allowed God to use him for that plan. God’s power and plan are unstoppable. It may not go in the way we think it should go, but we can always trust that God knows exactly how He wants it to go.

Read Acts 28

The island they landed on after the shipwreck had people who lived there. This was an amazing blessing because they helped Paul and all the people on the ship. Then, just when you think Paul might not have to face anything else that was hard or scary, he gets bit by a snake! Even though Paul knew he had not done anything wrong, these people believed that their false god was making Paul pay for what he did.

Then, Paul just shook off the snake and the people watched and waited for something to happen! They thought maybe he would swell up or fall down dead any second, but that didn't happen at all! One moment they believed he was someone who needed to get punished by their god, and now they believed HE WAS A GOD because he didn't have any reaction to the poisonous snake. We of course know this is not true, but for them, they had never seen anything like that before.

Paul then stayed at the home of a well known man named Publius and he was very good to them. Unfortunately, this man's father was very very sick with a fever and infection in his stomach and was not doing well at all. God healed this man's father through Paul and others started to come as well to be healed. He stayed for three months on this island with these people!

The next destination was finally Rome!  Paul had been waiting a long time to get there.
He faced many hard times and obstacles to get to this place in the very end. No matter the things we face on the journey, God’s power and plan are unstoppable and we can have peace in that! Paul was met by other believers and was encouraged and thanked God.

Paul arrived in Rome after a super long journey. Even though he was under arrest, he was allowed to live in a house with a soldier guarding him. Paul invited the Jewish leaders to come and hear about Jesus, explaining that he believed in Jesus as the Messiah. Some of the leaders believed, but others did not. Paul continued teaching and telling people about
Jesus, boldly sharing God’s message without fear.

He stayed in his house for two years, welcoming everyone who came to him, preaching about the Kingdom of God, and teaching about Jesus Christ. Paul relied on God’s strength until the end. He continued even though times were hard and he was in jail for a very
long time. God always has a plan and sometimes that looks different sometimes.
His plan is unstoppable and we can trust in His power!

He is always with us, just like he was always with Paul throughout his journey in the book of Acts. Paul did a lot of great things for the Lord and obeyed God, even when it was hard or didn’t make sense. Paul encouraged other believers, helped get churches started, wrote letters to continue to encourage the churches, and always put His trust in God. Paul is a beautiful picture of what it means to rely on the Lord for ALL things, not just some. We can rely on the Lord in this exact same way in anything He calls us into and not be afraid when the storms come. God is always with you and you can trust that He has amazing plans for you too, even if they don't look exactly like you think they should--they are better!
