Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness

Be Faithful to God

Read 2 Thessalonians 3:3

God is faithful to us always, and He protects us from evil. Being faithful means being loyal. It means sticking with something no matter what. God sticks with us no matter what. That’s because He made us, and He loves us. Even when we make bad choices, God is still faithful. He loves us always.

Since God is on our side, we need to be on His. Having faithfulness means we are
doing our best to always stick with God. We can show faithfulness to friends, too. Being
a good friend means sticking by their side through good times and bad times.

Faithfulness is such an important fruit to have that the Bible says it should never leave
us. God told the people a long time ago that they should tie it around their necks and
write it on their hearts. That just means they should be faithful to God always, never
forgetting that He is faithful to us. We can be faithful to God.

Family Discussion
  • What does being faithful mean?
  • Who should we be faithful to?
  • Who is still faithful even if we aren’t?
  • Can you name the seven fruits of the Spirit you have learned?

Memory Verse
But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself.” Galatians 5:22-23
