Fruit of the Spirit: Peace
God Wants Us to Make Peace
Read Matthew 5:9
This week, we continued our lessons on the fruit of the Spirit. These fruits aren’t
strawberries or watermelon that you eat. They are fruits for your heart. We previously learned about love and joy. The third fruit is peace.
Imagine that you are playing a game with your friend. They do something that doesn’t seem fair, so you start arguing about it. It turns into a big fight. How does that make you feel? You might feel sad, mad, or tense. Instead of arguing or fighting, it is better to be a
peacemaker. In the Bible, Jesus told His friends that people who make peace are called children of God.
When we find ourselves in a place with the choice of fighting or making peace, we
should always choose peace. We can have that peace in our hearts because Jesus
gives it to us when we follow Him.
Decide that you will choose peace when you are playing with your friends or brothers or
sisters this week. You can choose to get along with others.

Memory Verse
But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. GALATIANS 5:22-23
